5. Can I Use Model My Watershed Internationally?

Yes! Model My Watershed can now analyze areas of interest in non-U.S. geographies and display land cover and stream network statistics for those areas. International data comes from the TanDEM-X Hydro global stream network layer and the Impact Observatory Global Land Use/Land Cover Database.

You can delineate a watershed using the Free Draw, Delineate Watershed, or Upload File tools.

To use the Delineate Watershed tool, zoom into your area of interest and click on the map to set a delineation point. (The model should automatically switch to the “Global Basins from TDX-Hydro” layer.) The “Analyze” tab will then display stream and land cover data.

Monitoring and modeling data are currently only available for the contiguous U.S., so you’ll see “Unavailable” in the “Monitor” and “Model” tabs.
