      Model My Watershed Case Studies Workshop at the Stroud Center, April 17, 2019, 9:00a-1:00p

      Stroud Water Research Center (970 Spencer Rd, Avondale, PA 19311) will be hosting a Model My Watershed workshop on Wednesday, April 17, 2019, 9:00a-1:00p. The workshop will focus on usage of Model My Watershed in real-life case study examples. Light breakfast and lunch will be provided. Lunch will be a working session and discussion from 12:00-1:00.         We’ll be having the next <b>Sensor Station User Group Gathering at Great Marsh Institute (34 Moores Road, Elverson, PA 19520) Friday May 24, 2019, 9:00a-3:00p.

        For this meeting, attendees are asked to come prepared to give short presentations (5-12 min) on their current questions, challenges, and progress in using EnviroDIY sensor stations for monitoring and education.  The group of fellow users will provide support and feedback. </b></div>

        Field Trip: After the meeting there will be a float trip on Marsh Creek, which runs through the property.  There are 5 canoes and 3 kayaks (wet-butt type) available (enough for 13 people, or 18 with three people per canoe), but you can bring your own kayak/canoe if you’d like.

            Sensor Station Management Workshop

            The next sensor station management workshop will be on <b>Saturday August 10, 2019, 9:00a-3:30p at Cherry Valley National Wildlife Refuge (2138 Croasdale Rd, Stroudsburg, PA 18360 United States)

            Anyone working with or planning to work with EnviroDIY sensor stations is welcome to attend.  It is highly recommended you attend this workshop if you are working with a sensor station and have not received formal training on the management process.

            Attendees will be trained on the day-to-day processes used for maintaining functionality and data quality of EnviroDIY sensor stations deployed across the Delaware Basin.  The workshop will address sensor station field maintenance, data download, record keeping, data entry, and quality control procedures.

              Watershed 102 at Stroud Center, Sept 24-25, 2019

              Stroud Center’s newest 100 level workshop, “Watershed 102, Aquatic ecology as it relates to stream and watershed restoration and protection” will be held on Tues-Wed, Sept 24-25, 2019, 9a-4p (both days) at Stroud Water Research Center (970 Spencer Rd, Avondale, PA 19311).

              All are welcome to attend. Material will be geared for participants at all levels working in the Delaware River Basin from volunteers to professionals. The workshop will focus on abiotic and biotic stream characteristics in natural, urban, and agricultural settings. Effects of different remediation and preservation strategies in these settings will be explored via broad syntheses and case studies. A preliminary agenda is attached.

              Refreshments, light breakfast, and lunch will be provided.

              Funding is available to support those in need of travel and lodging assistance.

                Reminder, the next EnviroDIY Sensor Station User Group Gathering on Friday October 18, 2019, 10a-3:30p at Brodhead Creek Heritage Center (1539 Cherry Lane Rd, East Stroudsburg, PA 18301).

                These meetings provide time/space for folks who are working on sensor stations to communicate with one another and with Stroud Center staff on sensor station issues, data, monitoring, ecological questions, etc.  You are all welcome and encouraged to attend if you have any questions or things to discuss about your work on the stations, data, etc.
                We’ll provide an update on station upgrades, future plans, on-going work, etc.  The theme for the meeting will be Usage of Monitor My Watershed, so there will be a 1-2hr tutorial and time to discuss.  We will also allocate time to any attendees who would like to formally present data, analyses, questions, issues to the group (see registration below).
