6. Enter, Edit, and Delete Leaf Pack Data

6.1 Enter Data

Once you’ve registered your site, you’re ready to enter data from your Field Data Sheet and Biotic Index Data Sheet. (The online data entry form does not currently include a place to enter data from your Site Map or Habitat Data Sheet.)

  1. Click on “My Sites” in the Monitor My Watershed main menu then scroll down to find the site to which you’d like to add experiment data. Click on the Site Code to go to the site page.
  2. On the site page, scroll down to the “Macroinvertebrate Data at This Site” section, click the “Manage Experiments” button.
  3. On the next page, click the blue button (+) to add a new experiment.
  4. Enter your leaf pack placement information:
    1. Leaf pack placement data: enter placement date, number of packs placed, air and water temperature (optional). Choose a stream habitat type that best represents your site.
    2. Leaf pack composition: check the three predominant leaf species. Use the “Other” section to add other leaf species and/or non-leaf materials.
  5. Enter leaf pack retrieval and storm information:
    1. Leaf pack retrieval data: enter retrieval date, number of packs retrieved, air and water temperature (optional)
    2. Storm and non-storm events: indicate whether storms, flooding, and/or drought occurred while your leaf packs were in the stream.
  6. Enter your macroinvertebrate count data:
    1. Enter the total number found across all of your recovered leaf packs for each taxa.
    2. Use the notes section to add supplemental information about your leaf pack data.
  7. Click the Submit button.

6.2 Edit Data

  1. Click on “My Sites” in the Monitor My Watershed main menu. Scroll down to find the site you’d like to edit. Click on the site code to go to the site details page.
  2. Scroll down to “Macroinvertebrate Data at This Site” section, click “View Details” for the desired experiment.
  3. On the next screen, click the blue “Edit” button.
  4. Edit your data and click the “Save Edits” button.

6.3 Delete Data

  1. Click on “My Sites” in the Monitor My Watershed main menu. Scroll down to find the site you’d like to edit. Click on the site code to go to the site details page.
  2. Scroll down to “Macroinvertebrate Data at This Site” section, click the “Manage Experiments” button.
  3. Click the trash can icon to delete the experiment.
