6.1 Enter Rock Pack Data
Once you’ve registered your site, you’re ready to enter data from your Field Data Sheet and Biotic Index Data Sheet, if applicable. (The online data entry form does not currently include a place to enter data from your Site Map or Habitat Data Sheet.)
- Click on “My Sites” in the Monitor My Watershed main menu then scroll down to find the site to which you’d like to add data. Click on the site code to go to the site details page.
- On the site page, scroll down to the “Macroinvertebrate Data at This Site” section, click the “Manage Experiments” button.
- On the next page, click the blue button (+) to add a new experiment.
- Note: Rock pack data will eventually be separate from leaf pack data but for now it must be entered using the leaf pack data entry form. Enter your rock pack placement information:
- Rock pack placement data: enter placement date, number of rock packs placed, air and water temperature. Choose a stream habitat type that best represents your site.
- Pack composition: in the “Other” section, enter “Rocks.”
- Enter rock pack retrieval and storm information:
- Rock pack retrieval data: enter retrieval date, number of packs retrieved, air and water temperature (optional).
- Storm and non-storm events: indicate whether storms, flooding, and/or drought occurred while your rock packs were in the stream.
- Enter your macroinvertebrate count data:
- Enter the total number of net-spinning caddisflies across all of your recovered rock packs.
- If you identified and recorded other macroinvertebrate taxa on the optional Biotic Index Data Sheet, enter those numbers. Note: there currently isn’t an option to enter a total macroinvertebrate count as seen in the Biotic Data section of the Rock Pack Field Data Sheet.
- Use the notes section to add supplemental information about your experiment.
- Click the Submit button.
6.2 Edit Rock Pack Data
- Click on “My Sites” in the Monitor My Watershed main menu. Scroll down to find the site you’d like to edit. Click on the site code to go to the site details page.
- Scroll down to “Macroinvertebrate Data at This Site” section, click “View Details” for the desired project.
- On the next screen, click the blue “Edit” button.
- Edit your experiment data and click the “Save Edits” button.
6.3 Delete Rock Pack Data
- Click on “My Sites” in the Monitor My Watershed main menu. Scroll down to find the site you’d like to delete. Click on the site code to go to the site details page.
- Scroll down to “Macroinvertebrate Data at This Site” section, click the “Manage Experiments” button.
- Find the desired data in the list and click on the trash can icon to delete it.
